MISSION STATEMENT

The expert doctors at Alpharetta Eye Clinic and Windward Eye Care accommodate each patient’s unique optical needs; no two patients or prescriptions are the same. We believe in providing the most technologically-advanced eye care possible. Our doctors and staff treat patients with respect, and our ultimate goal is to improve our patients’ quality of life. When our patients are satisfied, we can say we are successful.

Sean Alexander, O.D.

Our doctors , Dr. Sean AlexanderDr. Sean Alexander is originally from Roswell, Georgia. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Auburn University and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Optometry. Dr. Alexander’s many years of experience includes work with primary care optometry, general corneal disease ophthalmology, and international eye missions.

He currently maintains his primary practice at Windward Eye Care in Alpharetta. Dr. Alexander is a member of the Georgia Optometric Association and has expertise in corneal disease, refractive surgery co-management, specialty contact lenses, and general optometry. Dr. Alexander lives in Alpharetta with his wife and two children.

Thomas Arey, O.D.

Our doctors, Dr. Tommy AreyDr. Thomas Arey is originally from Norcross, Georgia. He attended the University of Georgia for his undergraduate degree and received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama (UAB) at the Birmingham School of Optometry. Dr. Arey served as an associate in the top group private practice in Phoenix, Arizona, for almost four years.

His expertise was primarily in disease of the eye, contact lens, and general optometry. He returned to Georgia in the spring of 2000. He served in an Athens Ophthalmology practice and is primarily in Alpharetta at Windward Eye Care.  Dr. Arey lives in Alpharetta with his wife and three children.

Michael Walker, O.D.

Dr. Michael Walker is originally from Birmingham, Alabama. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama, and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB). He completed 13 months of residency training in ocular disease with the Barnet Dulaney Eye Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Following the residency, he worked 9 years at a large multi-specialty health care referral center before returning to the south. He is a member of the Georgia Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. He is also currently on the medical advisory board for Sophie’s Voice Foundation.

His emphasis is on ocular disease, pre and post op surgery, contact lenses and primary care. When not reading books, he enjoys family time, hiking, backpacking, basketball, and mission work. Dr. Walker lives in Smyrna with his wife Nancy, and his two children.

Jennifer Moon, O.D.

Our doctors, Dr. Jennifer MoonDr. Jennifer Moon is originally from Bayside, New York. She obtained her undergraduate degree from New York University, and then went on to receive her Doctor Of Optometry degree from SUNY College of Optometry. She completed her clinical externships in both New York and Atlanta in ocular disease, pediatrics, vision therapy and primary care.

She is a member of the Georgia Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association, and her emphasis is on primary care, ocular disease and contact lens. Dr. Moon currently resides in Johns Creek.


Mark Machen, O.D.

Our doctors, Dr. Michael WalkerDr. Mark Machen is originally from Forrest City, Arkansas. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas, and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis, TN.

He completed his retinal, corneal, cataract, and glaucoma eye disease externship training at the Memphis VA in downtown Memphis, TN. His primary care and contact lens externship training was conducted at Family Vision Care in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

He is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Georgia Optometric Association, and the Greater Atlanta Optometric Association.

His emphasis is on ocular disease, pre and post op surgery, contact lenses, and primary care. When he is not in the clinic, Dr. Machen enjoys the outdoors, fishing, playing golf and tennis, and watching his favorite collegiate and professional sports teams compete. Dr. Machen currently resides in Roswell.
